In January 2014 the CFA Institute, a financial services institution, completed its move into a new 143,000 sq. ft. headquarters facility, formerly Martha Jefferson Hospital in Charlottesville, VA. Gropen collaborated with Baskervill Architects, internal and external design teams to execute a complete environmental graphics, branding, and signage package. The seven-story hospital which was originally built in the 1920’s, was transformed into a modern day collaborative workspace.
Gropen brought Baskervil’s signage and visual display concepts to life by specifying best materials to perform the fabrication and installation. Feature displays include a World Map fabricated from custom cut acrylic bands, painted to match CFA’s branding colors mounted to a glass backer. The Ticker Wall was another feature display that included raised digital signage of up-to-date stock market activity installed within painted MDF blocks providing alternating dimension.
